15 R2, not charging when plugged in, #2

Hi everyone,

After using my laptop for 4 years it ran into a problem and needed a new motherboard. During replacement the technician found that the dc in cable was worn and needed replacement. After the cable replacement the laptop is working fine but not charging. It only shows 'plugged in' but the battery level does not go up as it is not charging. All replacements were done through dell. Called dell technicians and they ran diagnostics and test with no errors anywhere. No battery issues or any other issues found in full system checks done multiple times.

Has anyone had a similar issue? i looked online and did everything i could even unpluging the battery, bios update, drivers update but all in vain.

Check your AC Box and see if its working. I know the 15 R2 has a setting in the bio's, you can see I believe it's something along the lines of Express Charge. See if its enabled or disabled.

My wife has a 15 R2 and it doesn't charge if the battery is around 90%, only way I can get it to go to 100% is if I have the battery ware to 0 then recharge it fully.
