15 R3, barely utilizing ram
So I have a 15 R3 laptop and I noticed that even though it says it has 8 gb of ram installed, it only utilizes half, and sometimes even less. It fluctuates a lot from 4 gb to sometimes even less than 1 gb. By typing "msinfo32" in the run application it told me the available physical memory was everything I just said. Sometimes when the ram gets low the entire computer freezes up, leaving me with no option but to force shutdown. The laptop is 3 years old so could it just be a problem with age? This started happening about 2 weeks ago.

Your laptop will only use as much memory as it needs for its current Processes but 1GB seems very low. Windows 10 needs a minimum of 2GB to function properly but 4GB is suggested.
Try running the pre-boot diagnostic to see if it finds any hardware issues. I don't have one of the newer laptops but assuming it's the same as the older ones, you need to press F12 while booting to get into the boot menu where you will find the diagnostic.
EDIT: If your laptop is 3 years old then you will have replaceable SODIMM memory so you can also try using one stick at a time to see if you can pinpoint a faulty stick.
