15 R3, G-Sync compatible replacement LCDs

Hi,

I have an Alienware 15 R3 with a 60Hz LCD + G-Sync. Unfortunately, the LCD has cracked. The original LCD is a LP156WF6-SPB2. Whenever I order a replacement I am sent a 'compatible part' but installing these leads to the lost of G-Sync capabilities. I understand only certain LCDs can work with G-Sync if they are whitelisted in the BIOS. Does anyone know which LCDs these are as I am unable to source a LP156WF6-SPB2?

Thanks.

For anyone else in the UK who may be interested I bought a brand new LCD screen Dell part number F7HH2 from Stuff-UK (https://www.stuff-uk.net/home.aspx). They sell genuine Dell parts that can be searched for via the Dell part number as well as compatible parts.

Why not just call Dell and order an exact replacement from Dell Spare Parts?

Thank you - I have tried this route too and when ordering a 0F7HH2 part from laptop LCD specialists in the UK have been sent AU B156HAN01.1 and LTN156HL10 neither of which allows G-SYNC to function as the option is removed from the Nvidia control panel. I had to return both of these and despite communication with different suppliers have received messages such as this one.

"When ordering by screen model number, the actual part code sent may vary from the original. We will always send the most currently available model to replace the original. Screen part code availability is always changing, what we do promise is that the part code we send will be as good, or often better than the original for the specifications quoted on this page"

I guess I will have to put up with a cracked LCD or lose G-Sync capabilities unless anyone else has any ideas?

Thanks

Sorry I should have mentioned I am based in the UK and it seems to be trickier to source these part here. When I contact Dell UK I get redirected to the US.

The UK dell spare parts site also seems out of stock. https://dellspareparts.co.uk/product/lg-lp156wf6-sp-b2-15-6-fhd-screen-grade-b-0f7hh2/

That site appears to be a third party.  In the US, most spare parts direct from Dell are not sold online.  You must call to order.  You may want to try calling your local Dell order number and ask to be transferred to "Spare Parts".

I guess this isn't as easily done in the UK. I called Dell and couldn't get through a 'spare parts' dept. I was eventually put through to technical support who wanted to evaluate the laptop and didn't seem to be able to sell me the LCD screen directly.

Thanks for your help though.
