15 R3, how to overwrite BIOS downgrade lock?

I tried to get support on this matter 4 years ago and never got a response.

Ever since I update my laptop's BIOS because I was notified by Dell Support Assist that it was an URGENT update, my computer stop regulating thermally! It would get overheated very quickly to a point of the computer freezing and crashing. Before, I could play the same game without even reaching very high temperature. I could not even play some old games in medium settings. It's very frustrating.

When I contacted DELL Technical Support, they simply replace the board I believe, and the BIOS issue remained the same. I stopped using the laptop because I didn't want it to get it damaged, and I was out of the country to continue getting support.

I want to know if there is any way to salvage this situation, would downgrading it back to the original BIOS it came with help? If so, how would I be able to overwrite the BIOS downgrade lock on the laptop?

Thank you.

The latest BIOS firmware was release in May 2022 and there was no users report of BIOS issues.  Also your concern BIOS firmware was resided on the old motherboard and is now long gone.  Don't worry about fixing it.  With a new motherboard replacement and you are still facing performance issue, that could be caused by conflicted settings, corrupted system drivers.

Run system diagnostics scan to check for hardware failure.  Run elevated commands to check health and restore health of system files.  If they can not identify or resolving the issue.  Perform a clean Windows installation, it can fix most of conflicted settings and drivers as well as those unknown causes.

Due to system age, you may consider to replace the battery pack before the swelling pushes against the touchpad, damaging the palm rest and system board.
