15 R3, Random Crashes
Hi I have an Alienware R15 that keeps randomly crashing. Every so often it boots into diagnostic mode and tests pciexpress then gives a "no bootable device found" error and shuts down. Takes about couple power cycled to get back to normal. Runs fine for a couple hours, then crashes again and does it all over. According to the Alienware Update software and Sell Support Assist, BIOS is newest version, and Nvidia gives no inclination of a better or newer driver. Also, I also cannot do a clean install or recovery as it will crash every time I try and give an error about a critical process failure. I've tried every recovery technique. I only use the laptop for school and games, so I'd be happy with just a clean install.

Sounds to me like your HDD/SDD is failing. I would transfer any important data off it ASAP or you may never get it back again. It could just be a Windows glitch but I'd grab a cheap SSD (256gb or larger) and reinstall Windows. You'd have to grab an empty 8gb flash drive and use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to download Windows onto the flash drive. Then you just remove the old drive, put the new one in and boot up with the flash drive plugged in.
Hopefully it's not a motherboard issue.

If you still have warranty then any failure should be covered, as long as it's the original part. You can contact Support and get them to diagnose the issue.
