15 R3, SSD problem, HDD change and complete reinstallation?
Hi, i have a problem with my Alienware PC (15 r3) for some time.
It starts and remains blocked on the Alienware logo, sometimes it launches a black page written ... checking media presence ... and launches a diagnostic which indicates to me that there is no disk for boot
And when my PC finally starts up correctly, I have the right to a blue screen of death; either it functions normally and there I launch a diagnosis with alienware assistance which tells me that all is well ...
Anyway, I thought to myself that my C: drive, which is my 256GB ssd1, needs to be changed (hoping it won't be anything else)
and hard blow it will be necessary to make a complete reinstallation and I would need your advice.
My pc dates from October 2016 and I have no idea how to recover my Windows 10 as well as all the alienware software to restart on new ssd.
Can you explain to me step by step what I should do?
I think the problem comes from the ssd, but I may be wrong, tell me what you think.

Thank you for your answer, I use indeed the ssd 1 of 256go for the installation of my windows 10 and various software, the hdd of 1TO is used for the storage videos and photos finally I put an nvme samsung 960 evo 512 go only dedicated to games.
So if I follow you, you propose reinstalling windows using an external hard drive to put it on the 512go ssd and then format the ssd when it has just received windows ????
What about all alienware software for managing profiles, lights, etc.?

Yeah,
it’s the SSD.
Dont doubt what the software does because it is always knowing about any issues with the computer. If it keeps trying to run media diagnostics then it’s just the SSD being faulty.
Heres the smart way to set up your storage:
NVMe should be the boot drive:
https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-512GB-Gen3x4-SU512GBP34A80M28AB/dp/B07L6DKM8V/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=512Gb+NVMe+m.2&qid=1594901731&sr=8-3
HDD should be used for games and other stuff:
https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST1000LM049/dp/B078TJ17QF/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=1tb+HDD+7200rpm+2.5&qid=1594901827&sr=8-4
Don’t fill up all your ssd or Hard-drive because it’ll break down faster.
Once you install both of those inside of your computer you can now go to the windows media creation tool page right here:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO
Install it through a flash drive on your computer and then plug it into the laptop. Afterwards, put the operating system on the one that has 512gb of storage. Not the 1tb one, just the 512gb. Reformat the 512gb one and click continue. You’re done!

Just literally go to dell.com and enter your service tag to find the drivers for your model.

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/alienware-15-laptop/drivers
there are you drivers.
Just download all of these but make sure to NOT download the windows updates before the driver install for a few of the drivers.

I clean with a blow gun and then with isopropanol the ssd contactor and luckily the pc restarts normally three times in succession .....
so actually may be a tablecloth problem ????
until next time, in any case if that’s right, the whole motherboard will have to be changed?

It is a tablecloth problem like you said if the computer restarts successfully after cleaning it, it works.
