17 R4, freezing when booting anything!

Hello, I am having a serious issue with my Alienware 17 R4 laptop, it was working fine yesterday but when I opened it today it wouldn't boot to windows....the good thing I am have some computer skills fortunetly, so I thought it is a windows problem which it isn't!, so I created a bootable iso Win 10 and attempted to reformat it but it wouldn't even boot!, and if you put ANY bootable driver on the laptop it would freeze as soon as it boots to the drive, and yes I tested the hdd and m.2 drives and they were working fine on other laptops!

The only thing that my laptop can enter is the bios, and diagnostic, so I went to the diagnostic and tested everything and reported no errors!

The things that I tried after all this was resetting the bios\cmos holding power button and removing the cmos battery, but no luck so far!

The last thing is updating the bios BUT I can't, I downloaded the bios from here: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/alienware-17-laptop/drivers

I then created a bootable dos USB using this: https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-us/sln143196/how-to-create-a-bootable-usb-flash-drive-using-dell-diagnostic-deployment-package-dddp?lang=en

but the thing is , in the dos, it says file not supported!, and it must boot from windows, but as I told you, I can boot anything on laptop!

Please help, I really think that bios update will fix it cause it is urgent on Dell's page, I appreciate it so much,

thank you!

Hi, thanks for responding!

It appeared that "Intel Speed Step Technology" was the problem. I troubleshot many PC's before and that feature was giving so many problems to specific systems!, cause it can run processors in many performance states, so maybe it ran the processor on extra low performance! I forgot about it completely!, just by disabling it, the laptop was able to boot anything without freezing!, thanks for the help!

Do you have a secondary computer?

Just use the secondary computer and download a older version and flash the bios.

Hi! I will appreciate it if you can respond!

I bought a used Alienware 17R4 Yesterday. Before buying it, I was testing it and everything was running fine. I took it home and tried to reset the laptop with a new Windows 10 USB but whenever I tried to boot into Windows 10, it just freezes and the screen looks distorted.

Did your screen freeze too? I can enter Bios no problem, but I just can't boot into anything. How did you solve your problem with the Intel Speed? Was it through bios?
