17 R4, HDD crashed, restore to SSD
My hard drive crashed all of a sudden bought a ssd did not have a back up disk to install os from, tried the instructions on the dell site but the os will not boot up , using a usb restore recovery can get to bios but nothing happens need help

Ok, What is the exact model number of your system and which version of Windows are you trrying to install? Is the SSD a SATA type or M.2 NVMe? If Windows 10 then you can download the media creation tool here and it will create a bootable flashdrive. You can clean install Windows 10 using that.

When using a bootable USB you will need to enter the Boot Menu (F12 during post) and select the USB from here.

Did the usb drive but it’s talking to computer but is not recognizing hard drive , followed every step on dell sight
