17 R4, system tray keypad controller icon missing after windows cumulative update

Last nights updates:

2020-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems (KB4566782)
2020-08 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64 (KB4569745)

removed the icon that switches between macro sets. When I look in system settings/personalization/taskbar notification area, select which icons appear; alienlabs.keypad.controller is still there but it shows a blank blue square instead of the icon. The icon has completely disappeared from the system tray icons area. The function is running and still works using the alien key at top left on the keyboard. Anyone else have this problem?
