17 R4, touchpad bulge
I've had my laptop for 2 years. It was a gift from a family friend. Recently my touchpad has started to bulge. Not sure why. My laptop works great and I can still extreme game as I always have. Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this or is my laptop ruined forever?

Most likely, the battery inflated and squeezed out the touchpad. This is not good and dangerous. I recommend that you take care of replacing the battery.

Matey....shut if off immediately....and remove the battery.
A worn out battery bulges and can ruin the touch-pad, where it needs to be replaced.
Just use the A/C power for now.

Boudica46,
This 17 R4 sold in September 2017. The purchased warranty expired September 2018.
Here is the online 17 R4 Service Manual with battery removal instructions. You should remove the battery and replace it with same battery part number =
546FF
Prior to doing the battery removal, read this = Handling swollen Lithium-ion batteries
