17 R4, touchpad water damaged replaced but not working?

Hi,

Dropped a glass of wine on my touchpad which meant that the touchpad buttons stopped working. I could still scroll and tap for a while but that stopped working too. I bought another touchpad which I thought was the right one but it doesn't work at all. Can anyone help? I have noticed it looks a bit different from the original. See photos:
