17 R5, Alienware Update v4.5.0 stuck

Alienware Update v4.5.0 appears to be fully functioning as it interrogates and lists all the updates that have been installed. The selected updates report they have been successfully installed. Alienware Update revisited to see if any more updates are required, but keeps saying that these same updates should be installed. 

Speculate that Dell SupportAssist application's failure to install may somehow interfere with Dell Alienware Update v4.5.0. Not sure if Alienware Update is a full stand-alone application. 

17 R5, SupportAssist v3.10.4 Blue Screen - Dell Community is automatically intercepted and Dell wants to install SupportAssist v3.11.1.18, but this is not allowed. There is no option to install Old SupportAssist v3.10.4 which was working and providing OS recovery protection, etc. 

Hi @DELL-Chris M has anyone posted a fix that my search failed to find?
