17 R5, cannot access a website, other devices can?
The error message I get on Chrome: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
And when I run the windows network diagnostics this is the problem found: "Windows received an HTTP error message: 403 (Forbidden)
As I said, I can access the website perfectly fine on other devices using the same internet connection, indicating that this is an issue with this particular device. I uninstalled the Killer software and I have tried many potential fixes but nothing seems to work.
Please help, thanks.

Final update... tried opening the website now and it just worked on it's own. Not sure what fixed it - Oh well! Kinda annoying that I still don't know what was the cause of the issue but as long as it's working... Thanks all for your help

The website crimson linked should be able to help but one main issue you could be having as mentioned in the guide is:
1. Check the Date or Time of Your System
The validity of the Certificate is an essential factor for the authentication process, which means also keeping tabs on the time it was signed and when the expiration will occur. So, any issue with your system’s time or date can cause this error at the time of authentication.
and if that doesn’t help I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling chrome. Or just use Microsoft edges move feature which allows you to move all the important data from chrome to edge.

I have tried all these solutions before posting, it didn't work. It's not a browser issue.

It seems to be a firmware issue inside of the actual WiFi card and drivers. It also could be a registry issue as another post on Dell community said editing some registry fixed it. But most say the solution is just using onboard Ethernet.

Hi @EbraM thank you for sharing updates.
If Wi-Fi cannot access a website, it could be that Windows, Wi-Fi Properties, Networking, Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) has been enabled. The fix is to deselect this option, see image.

Hi @EbraM thank you for sharing update that this is an Ethernet problem.
It seems that the http website permissions on your Alienware 17 R5 laptop is saying “keep out” and access to this website is denied. Your other devices can access this website. Check if your 17 R5 use of this URL address wants updating from http to https for this website.
If that does not work, clearing the cache and cookies is the next step. Clearing the 17 R5 cache and cookies will also clear your saved passwords. Make sure that saved passwords on the 17 R5 can be reinstated.
If problem not fixed, please use snip to capture image of error window, and share image in next post, so that users can see what you can see. Thank you.
Please share an update on progress, so that other users derive benefit from your experience. Thank you.

Hi @EbraM thank you for sharing image.
Please visit Privacy, search, and services to see tracking prevention settings in browser. Edge Options are Basic, Balanced, and Strict. If Strict option enabled, visits to http URLs will be blocked because site cannot provide a secure connection.

Here are two things you can try.
Go to Internet options ==> Security (tab) ==> (Select)Trusted sites ==> (Click)Sites ==> Uncheck(Require server verification... if it's not a https site) ==> Click add and close everything and restart your internet explorer.
I discovered that the Google search engine has the wrong symbol, instead of a blue box with the "g" on it the symbol was a magnifying glass. I added Google search engine anew, delete the old one, issue resolved. This is done in Manage Add-ons.
both came from users from Microsoft.

Hi @EbraM, have you tried updating your drivers?
If not, try updating your drivers to the latest version. You can find the latest drivers here.
