17 R5, Enable RAM XMP
Awaiting arrival of the gaming 4000MTps (MHz) SODIMM DDR4 64GB (2x32GB) XMP RAM kit.
Not sure how to enable RAM XMP (Extreme Memory Profile).
(1) Is there a BIOS/UEFI option to enable and where is it to be found.
(2) Will AWCC FUSION tab automatically enable the RAM XMP profile settings, or is manual intervention required?
(3) Does Windows Update get the RAM XMP driver(s), or is manual intervention required?
Looking for 17 R5 user with their RAM XMP enabled to provide guidance. Thank you in anticipation.

I have the same issue with 32GB (2x16GB) SODIMM DDR5 4800Mhz. Brand new 17 R5 ordered Dec 2022. Verified using CPU-Z that XML is not enabled, even after fusion overclocking. My RAM benchmarks are pathetic.

I also just purchased a M17 R5 Ryzen 9 6900HX with GeForce 3070TI FHD @ 360Hz... stock memory (generic?) 2x8GB and using UserBenchmark get stellar results in all areas except for RAM which (see screenshot) suggests that I set to XMP in the BIOS. I looked in the BIOS (v1.5.0) and could find nothing, updated BIOS to v1.6.1 and still nothing. GOT to be able to use XMP setting on a screaming system like this... what's the word?

The word is simple: the system does not have a XMP support.

Hi @AA_Metatron thank you for sharing your UserBenchmark - Memory Kit image. What happens when clicking on link How to enable XMP? Please share the XMP link, so that we can see what you see. Thank you.

The link takes you to this youtube video which directs you to make changes in the BIOS to enable XMP and DOCP

I am going to return my laptop while I still can if I do not receive an answer as to how to utilize the full 4800Mhz of the RAM - which I would rather not do... so any help is appreciated!!

Alright so I recently bought my m17r5 fully loaded amd ryzen r9 6900hx with the radeon rx 6850m xt, I drove myself crazy trying to enable exp, I knew xmp is an intel thing, drove myself insane because my bios has not a single performance option besides pbo, and alienware command center says overclocking n/a. After annoying the heck out of the poor dell support staff they have assured me that overclocking is controlled on this model by awcc power profiles, it does give me better performance but i am very annoyed that I have to pick they're preset options. Also, and I probably should have started with this, expo is available on 3-5000 series chips and 7000 series chips... So that being said, short of doing something like taking taiphoon burner and literally doing it 'the old fashioned way', which I'm teaching myself as we speak lol, has anyone found a simple way to get the maximum performance of the ram on one of these machines? I've scoured the net and not found a thing so if so please share.
