17 R5, installing OS from USB
Hi Guys
I have a R5 17 for my ickle man, it came with Dead SSD
Have download OS from Dell (using USB)
The machine boots from USB but need a driver to see harddrive (WINDOWS 8) (I Guess)
I have Intel drivers for Series 8 C220 ACHI controller !
But i get No New Device Drivers were found !
Help !

You need the Intel Rapid Storage driver, which you can get from Intel directly. Get the “F6/floppy” version that comes as a zip file. Extract the contents of the zip file onto the flash drive and provide that as a driver when you’re given that opportunity.
Or if you don’t need to use RAID on that system, go into the BIOS Setup interface and change the SATA Operation mode from RAID to AHCI, at which point you shouldn’t need a driver at all anymore.
Also, why are you installing Windows 8? That system would have come with Windows 10, in fact its hardware might not even be compatible with Windows 8, which could be your issue. And even if it was compatible, your system’s Windows 10 license wouldn’t activate Windows 8. You can download Windows 10 directly from Microsoft if needed.

Hi Mate
I used the Dell USB media and with my service tag it gave 8 !
I also think it not the RAID driver missing but something else

Did your system actually ship with Windows 8? If not, it sounds like that was an error. If your system shipped with Windows 10 and Dell's tool isn't providing you with the correct OS, just get Windows 10 straight from Microsoft here.
