17 R5, self shutdown, no power, #2
I was in the middle of playing a game and the laptop just turned off. Can't turn it back on. I've been troubleshooting for a week now, with all the thinks youtube suggested... but still nothing works. Its a Saturday morning and I need it fixed. Only lights I got to come on before zero response from the laptop at all was the Alienware emblem lit up and the side lights on the lid of the laptop and nothing else, and then a solid red power button later. I'm suspicious of overheating issues tied to the now dead laptop. Never overclocked anything... Would appreciate some help or information...
Thanks

Compare your system's startup error light sequence to your manuals diagnostics error codes.

You can also try a FLEA reset.

Hey there, thx for the reply. Well there are no lights at all... If i do the flea reset the alienware logo on the frame and the powerbutton are shining but only until i try to turn it on, after that the lights are not working and the notebook wont turn on.. i can see that the vents start for a milisec... so they have power but somehow only for a second.
Hope that information is helpful

Since you dont get that only in games id say its power issue and its either the battery or your charger
