18 Area-51 AA18250, be made completely silent?
Is there a way to make the fans of the Dell Alienware 18 Area-51 laptop turn off at minimum load? AWCC does not allow this. Maybe there are third-party programs that can be used to make the fans turn off when the processor is running at low frequencies and remains cool?
And taking this opportunity, I would like to suggest that Dell make the following changes to the new BIOS version for the Dell Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250.
1: Configure the fans to turn off in Quiet Mode if the processor temperature is below 60 degrees Celsius.
(This will greatly improve the acoustic comfort of the laptop.)
2: Reduce the PL1/PL2 power limit to 80/50W in Quiet Mode.
(This will reduce laptop heat and noise, and also increase battery life.)
3: Add a power consumption limiting feature to AWCC.
4: It would be great if AWCC had the ability to not only increase fan speed, but also decrease it.
5: Configure the F6 key to cycle through modes: Quiet, Balanced, Performance, High Performance, and Custom. Also, in AWCC, the user should be able to select the performance modes that will be cycled using the F6 key.
6: It should be possible to control the battery and change the operating mode of the function keys not only in the BIOS, but also in AWCC.

I would love the fans to turn off when not needed.

@zzwar
Please write to Dell support about this. I have written to them about this many times. The more people demand that laptop Dell Alienware 18 Area-51 make the fans turn off at minimum load, the more likely it is that Dell will pay attention to this.

@Tiger-X how do I reach someone at Dell directly?
Also the fans turning off would be slightly more complicated than just having them turn off at 60. There will need to be hysteresis math that needs to be figured out as well. Basically I think Dell will not do it because this requires engineering work and lots of testing to get right. If they designed from the start they could have done it. They can do it now too but will cost a bit.
