18 R1, GTX 770 only chosen default GPU

Hi, I Have Alienware 18 - In that 2 graphics card available GTX 770 (3GB) and GTX 970 (6GB). Default display port was GTX 770 and no option to switch to GTX 970. When ever i play games it is showing only GTX 770, Its like having GTX 970 but not utilizing. Please suggest me what to do next as i play games on GTX 770 is on low specification, I want to use GTX 970. Appreciated for your suggestion and help..... Thanks

Restart the system and at the Alienware logo start tapping F2. In the BIOS look at the detected video card. In the system specs for the Alienware 18 I do not see the system having a 770 and a 970. I see the integrated is Intel 4600 and discrete is one of the following...GTX765M/770M/780M.

Now the 18x R2 had a 7970 as an option but none of them had a 970 as an option as far as I can tell. And none of the series had 2 GTX GPUs available in the same system.

Display Adapters: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M In this PC have 256SSD, and 2 TB normal HDD, today i installed Far cry new dawn game on SSD this time there was an option to select GTX970, Other games which is installed in HDD only GTX770 option is showing in graphics setting. I will try to install another game in SSD and will confirm why is the difference..

Just to be sure. You have an Alienware 18 not an 18x R2 or other model correct? And how old is the system because I am not seeing the video display options that you mention. Of course this would not be the first time I am wrong but if so the Dell support documents are incorrect.

EDIT: Ok after digging around the Internet, it appears the Dell spec sheets are not complete. The spec sheet is from 2013 and the limited edition systems came out around 2016 with the updated and more powerful GPUs. The 970 was available and in fact an upgrade kit is available to install the 970. There were even dual GPUs (dual 970M or dual 980M) available. Sorry for the confusion.

It should be located within the nVidia control panel under 3D Settings. My laptop doesn't have the IGP avalible so I cant double check it.
