AGA compatibility, Intel Alchemist graphics card series

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the AGA (Alienware Graphics Amplifier) compatibility list. I can see that the list includes only NVIDIA and AMD Graphics Cards.

However, new graphics cards have emerged and I was wondering if the AGA are compatible with the Intel Alchemist ARC A770?

I already own the AGA and I'm intending to buy the Intel Alchemist ARC A770 graphics card but hesitant that it might not be compatible with the AGA.

I would appreciate if I could get a clear answer with certainty because I will not be able to return it once I purchase it.

Best Regards

Hi @Ahmed Bin Naser welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Dell has decided that there is not going to be an updated Alienware Graphics Amplifier for modern eGPU cards. Please consider matching the full size and performance eGPU you want with a modern eGPU enclosure and PSU, look at Best eGPU Enclosures – March 2023 External GPU Buyer Guide | eGPU.io

The 2014 released AGA was EOL (end of life) in 2017. So no, Dell is not going to test new video cards on it.

I would like to know this too. Please let me know if you got this working. My feeling is this would work, as new cards post end of life have been evidenced as working, such as 4000 series Nvidia cards. As the AGA is an PCI express extension, the Intel will work using PCI express standards.
