HI.

My alienware is turned on, sometimes when I connect charger, at the momment of plug it, this turn of green light and wont charge. I plug out and turn on again. I have to wait for a while and plug in again and it start to charge my laptop. My laptop works fine and I havent any notice or warning at screen.

Any clue? I am making backups just in case.

Hi @aldolavin than you for sharing update.

To recap: When the ac adapter is plugged into mains socket, the power cord's diagnostic LED light is on. When power cord is plugged into laptop the diagnostic LED light turns off, but not always.

This usually means that the Laptop's dc-in socket has loose electrical engagement and a shorting fault, which is due to normal wear.

Please go to Product Support  to identify the 17 and its Revision number. The original 17 will not have a Revision number, but R2, R3, R4 and R5 will. Then we can tell you the Dell Part Number, etc for your internet search to order this part. Thank you.

aldolavin,

In addition to the good advice above...

To accurately access the correct parts page, hardware shipped, and warranty, DELL-Cares will need the private Service Tag. Click here. On the screen that appears on the right under, "Contact Me", click, "Send this user a private message".

In that private message provide the private Service Tag.

no, not charges when required. When I try to charge, some times do that. Dont charge (my laptop is power on), and turn off green light (charger).

Not fully charged, today at the morning my battery has 50% charge and I plug the charger and do that. I have to unplug it, wait for a while and plug it again.

Noup, my system is working normally

Thanks in advance
