Alienware 17 R4 powers, won't boot

I tried to turn this laptop back on and all I get is the lights under the keyboard and around the power button to come on. I have tried unplugging everything and disconnecting the battery, then holding the power button for a minute. Still only powers on the keyboard lights and power button light. Doesn't matter if I plug the battery back in or not. I've also tried reseating the ram, ssd, and hdd and still same result. Occasionally the keyboard lights will go out for a couple of seconds then come back on like it's restarted again but just stops with the keyboard and power lights. Screen stays black. The code the power button flashes says it's a cpu failure. Is there anything else to try or is this laptop just dead now.

No updates were done just prior to this problem. It worked before I left for work and when I came home it started doing this.

Don't know exactly what happened. Can only guess maybe a power surge hit, but it's plugged into a ups.

Unfortunately your going to need to call support.  More then likely the MB has had a critical failure and or the CPU has actually failed.

Did this happen right after a bios update?

Same thing happening to me. So frustrating! Of course I'm 3 months out of warranty. This sounds like an issue with a lot of people!
