Alienware Command Center App FLAW - Overclock and Thermal a failure
m15 R2 - the story of this lappy about this app. Since Sept/Oct 2019 the Alienware Command Center I have had the "hourglass" loop no matter what I did. I can't say if the FX colors crashed or not since I was already annoyed with the lack of support. The rule of thumb with Alienware or any mail order computer is be sure your put the stress test in the first week, since you only have 2 weeks to return for full refund. If it fails for any small thing, immediately request an RMA, that small thing can become a big issue. I learned that from an AMERICAN Alienware Tech quite a few years back; make sure you demand it. don't let the outsource person try to con you into keeping it. Return it and reorder another one; don't have them replace or exchange.
***Sidenote: Unfortunately updates can mess up a system and when the OEM doesn't fix issues it can be disconcerting. Hence I no longer purchase Sony or Samsung or have any product of theirs. I am still on the fence with ASUS.
It seems as though there are many other peeps that have similar or the same issue; Overclock and Thermal a failure. Alienware is about to hit my boycott list since their ratings for their apps has not risen, which makes me think they don't really care. Razer has product similar to Alienware and no longer competetive, I am going on the fence as of now if Alienware doesn't get their act together. Solution complete. Now, below describes the problem:
Upon the new AWCC app install at the end of Sept. from Windows Store the looping error occurred. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I double checked for BIOS and other updated pertaining to hardware and software for the app. Since Alienware has 2 areas to look for updates it's a bit annoying; also The Windows Store does not state the current version or the real date of the version. A failure in it's own. I believe these are such simple specs that should be noted.
When the AWCC tries to auto updates components, it tells me to go to my library since I have already downloaded, but this message didn't occur till the 4th time I reinstalled from "recovering" my system 2 times. I have even tried resetting the app, terminating and restarting as well; no luck on there. So what tier tech support do I need; developer tier. Well, how often does Alienware update their software, I mean without issues.
So I did some searching and found this: (I hope it works for you guys, I haven't tested it, but it's a newer version, I think) I am going to try it when I get home this eve Tues Dec 3, 2019.

I hope this helps some of you.

I just did the reddit suggestion and the files worked. Let's see how long that lasts, since The Windows Store has a newer version.
