Alienware Command Center (Aurora 16)
Technical Issue Report: Alienware Command Center 6.x Installation Failure (Aurora 16)
System Info: Alienware Aurora 16 Software Version: AWCC Full Installer 6.10.15.0 (A00)
Issue Description:
The AWCC installer is performing a "phantom installation." After running the 811 MB Full Installer, it displays the message "Your software was installed successfully", but it fails to actually copy the physical files to the destination directory (C:\Program Files\Alienware\Alienware Command Center\).
Technical Specifics:
Service Failure: The AWCCService is correctly registered in Windows Services, but it cannot be started.
Error Message: "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified."
Missing File: The executable
AWCCService.exeis completely missing from the local drive, even after a "successful" installation report.
Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken (To avoid repetition):
Registry Cleanup: Used the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter to remove corrupted registry entries for "Dell Core Services" and "AWCC".
Clean Reinstallation: Multiple attempts using the Full Installer (811 MB) executed as Administrator.
SupportAssist: Attempted to repair/install via SupportAssist, but the software was not detected as a missing driver.
Manual Extraction Attempt: Tried extracting
AWCCService.exemanually using 7-Zip from the installer package. While the[0]data container was found (763 MB), it was not readable as a standard archive.Temp Folder Search: Scanned
%localappdata%\Tempwhile the installer was active; no.exeor valid.msipayloads were found in the temporary directories.
Requested Action:
Since the standard installer is failing to deploy the necessary binaries despite reporting success, I need a direct link to the standalone MSI package or a method to force the file deployment for the Aurora 16.
