Are Alienware laptops worth buying? #2
Hello everyone,,
I'm an 18 year old highschool student, and about a year ago my laptop broke, and it's kind of bummed me out. My parents are separated, and this year I built my desktop PC but it's only at my dad's, making it hard if I wanna do some work or play some games when I'm not at his place. I haven't bought a new laptop yet simply because I didn't really have the money, but I do now and I've been trying to find a good laptop that can run simple stuff like Word, etc, and that can run games, both old and new. And other programs such as Photoshop, Unity, Maia/Blender, and video editing software (I'd like to study game design so I'm just getting into it at the moment). So I'd heard of Alienware, had a look at their two most recent laptops, which both look great on paper, they're thin too apparently which would be pretty good, but I wanted to know if they were as good as the website says they are, if anyone has had recurring and big issues with theirs, stuff like that. Thanks!

Alienware laptops are consistently rated very highly. This web page and this one should help with more information. FYI, just a bit of trivia. Watch Big Bang Theory, Sheldon has an Alienware laptop. But let's be honest a compensation was probably paid by Dell for product placement..still kind of a nice little touch.

Any brand of laptop can have issues and you only really hear the bad stories and not the vast majority of people who have had positive experiences. I have only ever had good experiences with Alienware, but I prefer the older laptops that have replaceable parts.
If you're not sure you want to drop all your money on a new laptop then I'd suggest checking out the Dell Outlet store. There are usually good deals on there (way under full retail) which include a Dell warranty, if you don't mind having an 'as-new' or 'refurbished' machine.

Hi @Jaraya12 welcome to this user to user forum.
Advertising always provides a good incentive to buy their products. Reviews are rarely independent because they are sponsored. Looking at user to user forums invariably represents dissatisfied customers/users.
The only observation offered is to very carefully check what has been delivered, and if the new product is not perfect, reject it immediately and get your money back.
