Area 51 18" trackpad light timeout

I love my new 18" area 51 laptop.

However, I'm extremely annoyed that the trackpad light times out after a few seconds and stays off unless you touch the trackpad.

My previous alienware (17" R5) had an option in the BIOS to keep the trackpad on, but I could not find this on the area-51.

Is there any way to keep the lovely looking trackpad on? The blinking is kind of driving me crazy.
