Area-51m R1, boot failure on device
I purchased my A51m in Sep 2019. It has been getting very not recently and today has now failed coming up with Boot failure on Device. I have gone through the standard attempts at start up with no joy. It sends me to the BIOS page and sometimes it shows both the M.2 PCIe SSD's present and then other times it shows them empty. I also have a third HDD installed. I am a little disappointed to say the least currently as it contains my work and am currently unable to access some much needed files. Is anyone aware of what may be causing the issue as I had been using it successfully until very recently. The price I paid for the laptop I was expecting much more before potential component failures.
Any ideas to resolve welcome.
Thanks,
Bosloe

I am not sure if they are in single raid array or not to be honest. It is still as preconfigured.

I have just re ran the basic diagnostics and it came up with a hard drive failure. It gave me an error code etc....... how on earth has the SSD packed in. The problem is I don't know if it is one or both of them.

Running it now the initial diagnostics found no errors and now running the extended memory test.

Start with the Dell diagnostics - F12 at powerup. Are the two M.2 drives in a single RAID 0 array?

Think it's set as RAID0

Can I amend the configuration to check the drives individually and see if they will run or does the raid configuration stop that? I am not that clued up with RAID setups?

I ended up having to replace the SSD M.2 drives. I ended up just dropping a single drive in currently as I needed to get the machine back working for my studies. Really annoyed at the life span of the drive personally and also now need to look into the overheating aspect as I think it needs repasting to draw done the operating temperatures. For the price of the machine that we pay it is by no means a perfect system and in my opinion should not require replacements and repasting.

Hi, I am experiencing this issue myself. Did you find a fix? Thanks.
