Area-51m R1, can't install BIOS manually or through F12?
Trying to update my Alienware m15 R1 bios from 2.9.0 to 2.11.0 but can't seem to do so. I tried installing it manually but after running the executable nothing happens. I tried installing through the bios flash update option accessed while turning on the laptop and pressing f12 but my usb drive doesn't show up there and the system name says Orion for some reason. What can be done?

Thank you for your response. I'd rather not update the bios then! Still, it is concerning that I may have difficulty updating the bios if ever needed.

Hi @JohanChandy why are you trying to update BIOS? Only update BIOS if there is a feature you want, not because Dell has made another BIOS update available.

The update is flagged as "Critical" as it cover some security vulnerabilities associated (INTEL-SA-00527 & INTEL-SA-00532). I think is not something we should just avoid.
