Area-51m R2, 2080 Super hwmonitor temp limit reached

hi,

Just wanna ask a quick question to make sure i'm not overheating my gpu.

In HWmonitor and HWinfo under the gpu performance tab it comes up with performance limit - thermal 1 at 60 degrees c sometimes lower. I normally hover at 60 degrees and i max out at 70 depending on the game with my gpu. What does this performance limit mean? is it something overheating or is it just acting as it should?

Inserted picture please forgive bad paint crop job. thermal limit.png

Many thanks

Solved by the people at hwinfo. It shows because of a thermal trip event that makes the clock go down from maximum. Eg the 2xxx series downclocks itself ever 10 degrees or so which is normal.

if anyone is reading that is on the fence about these laptops the area 51m in general please see below for my experience.

at stock it performs well enough but after a cpu undervolt it’s very good. I have repasted the cpu and gpu with cooler master nano maker my cpu with Alienware control is set to 5ghz with an undervolt maxing out at 75 degrees while gaming. My gpu is normally at 60 but with heavy load and a warm room I have seen 70 degrees. In my opinion these temperatures are amazing for a laptop and would recommend this product to anyone.
