Error Code 2001 (possibly 2000)-0151
Hello!
I am using the Alienware M18xR2 laptop. I am having problems with presumably with the hard drive. My issues began after accepting the free upgrade to Win 10 (from Win 7). I had a technician correct my issues, since that point I've had issues whenever there was a Windows update (or the occasional reboot) I would have to negotiate reinstalling the audio drivers but would eventually get it.
I just recently realized there were cumulative updates that though were downloading were not installing, at which time I manually downloaded and installed. Long-short of it now the pc won't boot-up, fortunately, just before this point, I was able to run a diagnostics. I received the following:
Error Code 2001 (or possibly 2000)-0151
Validation - 69339
Hard Drive - 0
S/N - S2WZJ90CA64036
Incorrect Status = 3E
Smart Predictive Failure
In addition to booting extremely slow, if it reaches the Windows start or even if it stats it either freezes or no screen interface is available. Research suggests a shot HDD or CD/DVD issue.
Any thoughts and any possible fixes are appreciated.
Matt

The error message means that the hard drive has failed - replace that, and then reload the operating system from your recovery media. Then restore the data from your backup.

Hi!
We are sorry to hear about your problem. The error code 2000-0151 usually indicates a Hard Drive failure, so we recommend you to replace it.
As to the Operating System, the Alienware M18xR2 only supports Win 7, 8 or 8.1. So what you can do is go back to Win7 using your Recovery Media. Remember to back up your data before trying this procedure.
