m15 R?, touchpad no longer clicking
My trackpad no longer clicks, or really does anything besides moving around the screen. I primarily use an external mouse, so this isn't a *massive* issue, but its one I'd rather not have. I've triple checked if the trackpad has been enabled or disabled, and it notably starts highlighting everything when restarted. I've run every dell diagnostic I can find, no faults, I've updated the drivers, updated windows 10, even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I've also disabled and reenabled the Tobii trackpad filtering, nothing works. I don't have the money currently to send my laptop to a shop to see if there's a mechanical fault in the trackpad itself, has anyone else encountered this issue or has any possible solutions? Thanks.

I can press the button just fine, but nothing happens. The laptop is fairly new so I doubt its any battery issues, as I said, the button depresses just fine, it just doesn't do anything once its depressed. It clicks and functions like normally mechanically speaking, it just doesn't do anything on the actual software side it seems?

If it's that you cannot press down on the trackpad, remove the base cover and check the condition of the battery, which is just below the trackpad. If it shows any signs of swelling, remove it immediately and dispose of it outside your home or office. Then replace it as soon as possible. The system will run fine from AC without the battery, but left inside, a swollen battery is both a safety hazard and a physical hazard that will destroy the system in short order.
