Dell Update (for consumer and client systems only) and Alienware Update (for Alienware systems only) is a stand-alone application that provides updates for system software that is released by Dell. This application simplifies the BIOS, firmware, driver, and application update experience for Dell consumer client hardware. This application can also be used to install drivers after the operating system and network drivers are installed based on the system's identity.
I am having the same problem with an Alienware Aroura R13 while installing Update for Windows Universal v4.7.1. It gets to the 'Status: Starting Services' stage of the installation and reports Error 1920 - subtly different (or a previous typo?): Service Client Management Service (DellClientManagementService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I am the only user.
Mine is the only account on the device.
My account is the administrator.
I installed it having clicked 'Run as Administrator'.
Surprised that I require any privileges more sufficient to complete the installation of this software!
