m15 R1, fan full on boot, SA issue?

Question

Hello guys ,

My fans keep ramping up to max speed when it boots up and sustains the speed till I shut it down and switch it on again...…This issue has been really bothering me so I uninstalled support assist , during that period I didnt face any issues , once in a while the fans would ramp up on boot to max speed and then settle back down...…..I dont find it easy to individually update each driver every time so I reinstalled it , its been few day ( 3 or 4 days) since I reinstalled support assist , I faced the same issue once again today.....

I use an ALIENWARE M15 R1

@Gameboy15 I had a similar issue a while back. And it was caused by the Dell Data Vault services. I got rid of the problem by setting the services to Manual =

Not sure about the M15 R1, but on my Area51M-R2 there is a setting in the BIOS under performance that turns the Fan on at boot.  Might be worth looking at.

Hi @Gameboy15  Other m15 R1 users blame BIOS update, see Here. Their solution is to roll back BIOS to an older version.

@crimsom Even I felt it might be the bios , but I dont want to downgrade my bios....ill check out the method mention below and see if it works , if it doesn't ill follow yours....
