m15 R2, adding a second SSD, raid on mode

By default, the laptops ship with Raid On mode.  Is there a list of compatible ssd’s that work with this setup?  I know the samsung 970 evo plus drives have an issue with it.  Or should I try to change it to AHCI mode?  There are some tutorials on how to do this without reinstalling windows but I am not sure if they are out of date or not.  I want to add a second ssd and assign a drive letter to it like any other secondary drive.
