m15 R2, games keep crashing
Alienware m15 R2
I've had my Alienware m15 R2 for about 1-2 years now. Last night when I loaded the game it crashed after about 1-2 minutes of gameplay. At first I thought maybe that game was just having issues (gas station simulator) so I tried another game (Sims 4) and the same thing happened again. Now it doesn't get past the loading screen without crashing. I have run scans and updated drivers. How can I fix this issue?

If you're experiencing game crashes on your Alienware, here are some potential solutions to fix the issue:
Check for overheating: Overheating can cause games to crash. Make sure your computer is not overheating by checking its temperature using software like Core Temp or HWMonitor. If your computer is overheating, try cleaning out the dust from the fans or using a cooling pad.
Check your graphics settings: Lowering graphics settings can sometimes help with crashes. Try lowering your graphics settings in the game to see if that helps.
Update drivers: Make sure all of your drivers are up to date, including your graphics card drivers. You can check for updates using Device Manager or by downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Check for conflicts: Sometimes other software or hardware can conflict with games and cause crashes. Try closing other programs or disconnecting other hardware devices to see if that helps.
Reinstall the game: If nothing else works, try reinstalling the game. Sometimes game files can become corrupted and cause crashes. Make sure to back up your save files before reinstalling.
Hopefully one of these solutions will help fix your game crashes and get you back to running smoothly on your Alienware.

Based on the information provided, it sounds like your Alienware m15 R2 is experiencing crashes while playing games, and now it's not even getting past the loading screen without crashing. Here are some possible solutions that you can try:
Check your system's temperature: Overheating is a common cause of crashes in laptops, especially when running resource-intensive applications like games. Use a temperature monitoring tool to check your system's temperature while playing games. If the temperature is too high, you can try cleaning the laptop's vents and fans or investing in a cooling pad.
Update graphics drivers: Graphics drivers are crucial for running games smoothly on your laptop. Ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date by downloading the latest version from your laptop manufacturer's website or the graphics card manufacturer's website.
Check for viruses and malware: Viruses and malware can cause crashes and other performance issues on your laptop. Use a trusted antivirus program to scan your system for malware and viruses and remove any threats that are detected.
Check for updates: Ensure that your laptop is running the latest version of Windows 10 and that all your other software is up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause crashes or compatibility issues with games.
Run a system file check: Use the System File Checker (SFC) tool to scan your system files for errors and repair them if necessary. To run SFC, open the Command Prompt as an administrator and type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes).
Reinstall the game: If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, you can try reinstalling the game. It's possible that the game files may have become corrupted, causing the crashes.
I hope one of these solutions helps to fix the issue and gets you back to gaming without any more crashes.
