m15 R2, will there be any issues uninstalling the AWCC?

Hi,

I am tired. Tired of the constant crashes and the constant freezing after warm boots on my Alienware m15 R2.  Tired of the tests that return "nothing is wrong" when obviously there are problems. Never had issues with the old ones. Event viewer just shows constant errors on AWCC.exe besides the multiple crashing of the Nvidia driver.  Tired of it.

So instead of going through the "update and it will crash endlessly loop because Dell software stinks, what are the repercussions to removing the Alienware Command Center? Will the fans stop working or something? I don't care for the lighting effects. Frankly bought it for the graphics card but obvious this design has problems (software or hardware).

Hi @Krelek  many Dell users have reported problems with installing AWCC + OC Control update applications. There have been reports that uninstalling the AWCC and then installing the AWCC + OC Control update applications will soft brick all the AWCC FX lights. So there is a risk and only you can decide to take the risk or not.

If you decide to uninstall the AWCC + OC Control software, use Revo Uninstaller Free. This is known to completely uninstall the AWCC + OC Control software. Having started the removal process, click on create system restore point, wait for it to confirm that software has been uninstalled, then select advanced and then scan to delete all the background files, it may give you a second window and these files should also be deleted. Restart to update operating system.
