m15 R3, AGA tripping RDU?
My alienware laptop and graphics amplifier is tripping the RDU on my fuse board when I plug in the PCIe connector!
I have connected both of them straight to a 2 gang socket so it is not an overloading issue. It was working fine yesterday. Could this be an internal earthing issue?
My laptop is a m15 R3 and my AGA is running a 4090 with a Corsair power supply. Quite expensive stuff so I’m quite worried.
Is this a known issue?

The issue appears to be with the laptop itself as it also trips when i connect a HDMI display.

Hi @Sparco28 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
The Residual Current Device (RCD) may be detecting fault in mains socket, try different mains socket. If RCD still trips when using different mains socket, examine mains plug for fault. Some mains plugs carbonise despite being rated for 13 Amps and require replacement. Opening the mains plug for visual inspection will reveal internal fault.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried different mains leads to the charger and plugged them directly into the socket (bypassing the extension lead). I will try another mains outlet tomorrow. The fault happens when i connect either the AGA or an external display, telling me there is an earth variation between the 2 power supplies (for the laptop and AGA or display monitor). Will do a bit more digging tomorrow.
