Hi @hjgfd  thank you sharing update.

The example provided speculated that "Alienware Client Management Service" might be targeting the .NET framework 4.5.1 that does not exist. Did you check what your version of "Alienware Client Management Service" was actually designed to use, but could not find?

Hey, I'm having the same issue as well, but my Alienware Client Management service literally doesn't exist.

I can't install support assist or the update application because this service isn't starting. I get a glimpse of it, though, whenever I try to install support assist. It appears in services.msc and I guess it tries to start. But it doesn't, and it comes with an error that the service is marked for deletion whenever I try to set the startup type.

After the installation process fails, I get a total of 4 errors in event viewer.

The above error being the most peculiar one, two just being the alienware client service just not running, and one with error 1920 saying that I don't have sufficient privileges.

I may be late but I will try to participate and hopefully I can learn a thing or two here.

I think you should try installing an older version as that can usually solve the issue but not always? But if you wanna try just install the first version and then the latest afterwards. What I would also recommend is running the sfc /scannow command on the command prompt as an admin.

Hmm, I'm not sure how to grab an older version of support assist. I do use sfc scannow, but it comes off with no detections. I've also used DISM.

Yeah I've already seen that yt video as well. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi @guzwud thank you for sharing cannot install SupportAssist problem (and Alienware Client Management service not installed).

Here is a solution, but it may not be your solution. If there is nothing else in the SupportAssist for PCs forum that seems to offer a solution, try this.

Solved: Dell SupportAssist not installing after uninstalling - Dell Community

Thanks so much for your your response, I'll look into them. But I found something in the event viewer that says this:

guzwud_0-1630330859994.png

as well as this:

guzwud_1-1630330884195.png

Edit: I'm not sure why this happened, I think it happened when I tried to install support assist using the launcher. I'm also trying to use this troubleshooter from microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d, but I can't identify the app id of support assist.

Also, fyi, I used to have support assist. I uninstalled it via programs and features. I don't understand why (based on what I've understood from my research), you gotta remove the registry for the alienware client management service (im guessing that means uninstalling support assist deleting the service), but you need that to reinstall support assist.

Well, it was inevitable. My computer suffered from so many issues today, I just decided to reinstall windows using the support assist os recovery plugin thingy. The problem was fixed, my aw client management service has appeared, and support assist seams to work. I'll count my blessings and hopefully I don't get any more issues from here on out. Good luck to all of you guys.

That's wonderful but I'm kinda sorry you had to reset your computer to fix the issue. But please let us know if any other issues happen.

Yeah so I've run into another issue. I think the support assist back up took 15 gigabytes of space from my C: drive. I did select not to make a back up of my system during the reinstallation though. I noticed the 15gb random partition as well as 1.07 and 1.06 gb ones. I tried to delete the 15 gb volume because according to some other posts their backups were about 15gb too, so I figured that was the backup partition. So I deleted it, but I can't extend my system volume to claim the space... Do you know any where I can look?

Thanks for your time!

Hi @Shreyank.M  thank you for sharing update.

Pease run Reliability Monitor and wait for it to load timeline of your events. Look for Event that explains why client management service is having a problem. There should be a Microsoft error code, for internet search which will hopefully reveal a fix.

Ahh, hate to bear the bad news but, the acm service won't start anymore. The same errors occur.

When I am in the services program, I cannot start the server. Support assist works, though.

Hmm, this is all I see in the reliability monitor:

Here are the specific details of the one and only error:

Following the article you sent, I couldn't find any cause for this issue. I didn't find any thing else with the codes presented in the details as well. Thanks for your suggestion though!
