m15 R3, AWCC, spinning circle

After a recent update AWCC just shows a spinning circle and never gets to a point where I can actually do anything. This isn't the first time this has happened either. It seems like every single time I am forced to do an update something messes up and I end up having to uninstall and reinstall which a pain. My Aurora R14 AWCC freezes up anytime there's an update to my 6900XT driver and I end up having to downgrade to an older driver. I'd like for someone to please point me in the right direction on how to fix it on my m15 R3.

Thanks

aabudayyeh,

To receive assistance from Dell support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private Service Tag and all of your troubleshooting.

Hi @jhen8458 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Another AWCC version update has requested to be installed, but very reluctant because of the many failed updates that waste my time trying to fix. There is no-roll back option to an old version that I know works.

The constant spinning circle usually indicates that Microsoft Store is not open or ready to provide the AWCC requested features.

I had to uninstall and then reinstall. The exact thing I always have to do.

Thanks for the replies

Thanks for the reply. Is there any way to remedy the Microsoft Store issue when that happens to keep me from uninstalling?

I also have an A14 with a 6900XT and the rollback I was talking about was referring to that. When AWCC starts acting up on my desktop, it’s usually because AMD has just sent out a driver update. To “fix” the issue I have to rollback to an older version of my gpu driver. Thanks again.

Hi @jhen8458 thank you for sharing question.

The Dell AWCC application is not standalone. The Alienware Command Center Application was supposed to install a stable AWCC version, but it does not. My AWCC versions always fail to install with all four tabs ( Home , Library, FX , Fusion).

Dell Technical Support needs to get AWCC to install correctly.
