m15 R4, graphics amplifier causing error with 3060
Alienware m15 R4
Hello all. I have a 3060 integrated into the computer and my amplifier uses an rtx 4070. When I connect to the amplifier, the device manager says my 3060 has an error. When I disconnect from the amplifier the 3060 stays in error. Every time I connect or disconnect from the amplifier I make sure the computer is completely shutdown. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

None of the 3000 or 4000 series nVidia cards are supported by the AGA.

@ejn63 It worked before and I am able to get all cards to work. The issue I have is when I disconnect from the AGA, I have to reinstall drivers for the integrated card. I am trying to prevent that

There are a couple of possibilities starting with the driver -- you may have to remove any driver updates you've installed since the last time the configuration behaved normally and leave it that way.
The other is an aging AGA -- the design of these devices dates from ten years ago and the device is a minimum of four years old. If it's not a driver problem, it could be a failing AGA.
Bottom line is that it may be miracle it ever worked -- plenty of people had trouble with the 3000 series nVidia cards when they arrived just after the time Dell discontinued the AGA. The fact that it ever worked with a 4000 series card was a stroke of luck.
