m15 r4, mSATA ssd?

Hello,

So I recently got an m15 r4. I found a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO mSATA that I bought a while back and was wondering if it would fit in my laptop? I haven't found anything explicitly stating it wouldn't work. So, I just want to make sure. I understand that it's pretty small compared to the 2280 drives that are supposed to fit in there.

Thanks

Your slots are NVMe/PCIe M.2 slots. They are not compatible with an mSATA drive. The storage specs are available here.

Welcome to the Dell Community @rajshree

On older systems you could install an mSATA drive in a WWAN slot.

Your system uses M.2 WWAN so it would not fit.

But your system will allow an M.2 SSD in the M.2 WWAN slot.

Or vice versa.

Anyway you have two 2280 M.2 slots and one 2230 M.2 WWAN/SSD slot.
