m15 R5, noisy fan

The m15 R5 fan is very noisy since we bought it 10 months ago. After many many conversation with IT support, they changed a fan for us, but still same issue. Even nobody is using the laptop and only open the Google Chrome. It is really disappointed for this computer and never have this kind of bad experience. It is almost always the fan is so loud, even it is very cold in the room, maybe computer is hot?

Hi @dellqanda welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support. 

Support for Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 includes Diagnostics with option to run 40 minutes Full Test to thoroughly analyse your PC and detect hardware problems. 

Dell assigns and 100% guarantees the work of a local contractor to install different parts under Dell warranty. On this occasion the replacement fan did not fix this problem. Was the noisy fan replaced? There are more than one fan. 

As this problem was not fixed, the assigned contractor should not have closed the Service Request. Please revisit your online Dell account and update existing or create new Service Request to say this problem has not been fixed, and still requires to be fixed.

Thank you for the reply, they replaced one fan, and I also contact them for the issues. It is disappointed to buy this laptop. It is good to have this forum.

If you have Support Assist (SA) installed that might be the issue. SA updated recently and bring with it a lot of issues. Just take a look: https://www.dell.com/community/SupportAssist-for-PCs/bd-p/supportassist-pcs 

To see if SA is the problem, disable some services related to SA. Do the following:

Press the Win + R keys on your keyboard, to open the Run window. Then, type "services. msc" and hit Enter or press OK. The Services app window is now open.

Find and sett the following services to manual:

Then restart the PC and see if that makes any difference.
