Hi @iceyeti welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
Laptop with no battery is designed to function as Desktop powered by ac adapter. Please share what happens when ac adapter connected to laptop, does its diagnostic LED remain on?

please plug ac adapter into mains power socket, does the power cord's diagnostic LED plug switch on? What is the colour of the LED light? Do not switch on Alienware m15 R6 laptop, and remove anything that is connected to laptop. Plug power cord into laptop's dc-in port, does diagnostic LED remain on?
I had this same problem not an hour ago. Laptop wouldn't turn on, unplugged power, replugged, cycled what I could and nothing. No lights, no fan, nothing. So, I took the back plate off, located the battery, unplugged the ribbon from the motherboard, you don't need to remove the battery itself, just an unplug, let it sit for a few minutes, plug back in, reassembled, flipped it back over, and it fired right up. I was hesitant to do it too, but there's nothing to it. Just a little finesse when getting the back plate off and unplugging the battery. I was not ready to go months without a laptop. No way. But, it cycled out power and reastablished a connection. The machines only a couple months old too.
I had the same thing happen twice. First time Dell support had me do several things but the last one was unplugging the battery then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. After that it powered up.
It happened again a couple months later so I repeated the Dell support steps and it powered up.
Dell support guy said possible static buildup and that was the only to discharge it.
When booting on sleep after a firmware or hardware update, the M15 R6 crashes after 2 seconds of power on, before it can start the POST test. This crash occurs during the BIOS reflash and bricks the computer. The workaround is to switch on hibernation mode in the laptop UEFI settings. If your laptop has been corrupted already, the firmware will need to be reflashed.
