m15 R7, mine are junk
Alienware m15 R7
I can't write a review on Dell so I'll leave on here.
1st issue = Video over HDMI not working. Took them 3 months and issue was never resolved.
2nd issue = I installed several M.2 SSD in the 2nd slot and they constantly overheat and disconnect. I ended up with a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB Gen 4 and it is better, but still disconnects randomly and overheats. I can't install nothing but files on it. If I use it to load games on it, it will get hot and disconnect.
3rd issue = Now with the fan running on full speed it will still overheat while playing games.
4th issue = It randomly freezes even when it's not hot and shuts down.
5th issue = 2 out 5 times using it the charger will not charge. Doesn't take long to drain the battery even when on low settings and just cruising the net.
There's nothing installed on here other than 1 game and Chrome. I bought two of these laptops. One for my son and one for me. He's having the same issues and refuses to use it do to it having issues too. His old MSI 1080 laptop is better than these pieces of junks.
Specifications =
i9, 3070 Ti, 1TB M.2 and 2TB M.2, 1080 360Hz screen, 16GB ram

Hi @mcfroz welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
If still under Dell warranty, please click on Contact Technical Support and request on-line diagnostic to fix Alienware m15 R7 software problems and/or instigate replacement parts. Please click on @DELL-Cares to send Private Message to request assistance. Thank you.
Please note that installation of software, games, etc. must be installed on the SSD OS (C:) boot drive, i.e. the M.2 primary drive. The capacity of the (C:) boot drive's free space must be large to accommodate opening, running and closing temporary gaming files, a 1TB SSD is usually the minimum size.

I agree. Don't buy these. 1st one I sent back b/c keyboard was bunk. Second one I held onto for too long b/c my other old laptop was still performing - past warranty - while trying to figure out the random freezes, CPU maxing (when nothing was running), stupid battery drainage issues, and random EMF discharges, etc. I tried to tweak things, added 32 Gb's of RAM, bios and settings tweaks, etc. All to no avail. At this point I consider it a write off and am on the market for a new laptop. I'm super pissed and will never buy a dell laptop again.
