m15 R7 not charging with working ac power supply

My charger is no longer recognized by my laptop. Charger works and LED comes on but randomly my computer will turn off and then not charge. BIOS says nothing is recognized and I updated the my drivers also. Ran hardware diagnostic said nothing was wrong. I think it might be the port on my laptop but there is no visible damage to it or my charger and it will charge after constant restarting and unplugging and re plugging of the charger.
