The plug should be a very snug fit and if it comes out that easily then the DC jack may need replacement. I have also seen the occasional adapter that was the problem with a poor fit but generally again the DC jack is usually the source of the problem. Call Dell tech support.

I've heard the exact same issue from a few people I know with the new m18. It's possible that it's a small design fault either on the jack or the adapter.

Hi @IslayMalt welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Sadly, this is another example of Dell Quality Assurance that is not fit for purpose. The ac adapter (charger) plug and the laptop's rear power-adapter port should provide positive electrical engagement and physical captivation. Notebooks that run hot (100ºC = boiling point of water) should be placed on wooden tray or desk and not directly on a person's lap.

If purchased with Dell warranty, within the first 30 days there is option to reject Alienware m15 R7 delivered with faults. Dell Refund policy, New vs Refurbished - Dell Community. Request the full refund option, as soon as possible. You can create a Service Request as a Formal Complaint and request escalation to senior Dell tier that can investigate and instigate full refund. This normally takes 10 working days. Please click on @DELL-Cares to send Private Message requesting assistance.
