M15x R1, 2009, possible upgrades?

I have an Alienware M15x laptop that is 11 years old.  I have listed the specs below.  I am currently running Windows 10. Are there any feasible upgrades that I can do to improve general performance?  No gaming, but I do use processor-heavy applications.  Thank you.

Hello,

You can upgrade the CPU to other 1st Gen mobile CPU's. Most people opt for the 920XM. Be careful ordering these from China as many of them have turned out to be fake and don't work.

A popular GPU upgrade is the 970M. You will need a modded driver to run anything higher than the 400 series GPU's. A 780M is also a decent card for these older machines.

Thank you for your feedback! I’ll research your suggestions and likely will come back to this board w/what I find. I would love your confirmation before I buy. Thanks again!
