m16 R1 vs x16 R1 ?

Hello,

I'm trying to decide which one to buy.

On the Dell.nl site Ii can choose between an m16 R1 with 13900HX, 64GB and a GeForce 4090 or an x16 R1 with  13900HK, 32GB and a GeForce 4080.

Which of the two is the fastest in gaming and let's say running virtual OS's in VMware workstation? But my focus is primarily on gaming.

Thank in advanced.

The m-series is designed towards performance while the x-series is designed to be thinner and lighter with a few more fancy bells and whistles.

If you want the performance then go for the m16.

Hello mattyb3,

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm going for the m16 R1. The reason I asked was because of the faster memory in the x16 R1 and that not all games need the extra cores in a processor.

Thanks for your reply.

I just got the M16 3 days now and the 330W Charger is as heavy as the laptop?

If you going to carry it around to go places and you do not want to break your back, stay away from this!

There are after market chargers that are slim line that will work, but at Dell, they say it will damage your battery!

You may be able to order the newer slim adapter from Dell but they aren't cheap. I believe these only come with certain systems, possible the x16.

I used to travel with my M18x R2 and 330W brick, now that was heavy.

* That is conjector on your part. Based on the SPMD (Spare Parts Master Database), the m16 R1 was only validated with the the HJCCJ 330W AC power adapter.
* The online m16 R1 sales site only shows the HJCCJ 330W AC power adapter.
