m17 R2, Multiple monitors plus laptop LCD?
Alright, not looking to start a discussion or invite trolls to comment idiotic things. Bottom line is I searched Google for answers and found none. For this laptop in the subject line, no one seemed to know if 3 displays, 2 external and the laptop would work. It does. I have hooked up the mini DVI and HDMI simultaneously and it didn't automatically work, but go to device manager, display adapters, right click NVIDIA card, scan for hardware changes. Worked first time for me and I now have 3 monitors.

@DaSchlange Glad it works, although I’m surprised you couldn’t get an answer wherever you looked for one. I could have told you that would have worked. Even if all outputs had been controlled by the Intel GPU, which they’re not, the GPU built into Core 9th Gen CPUs can support three total displays. And the NVIDIA GPU can support four. And if the outputs are split between GPUs, you could potentially run even more total displays. For example, I have a Lenovo system where the built-in display is on Intel and the output ports are on NVIDIA. I can run the built-in display and four external displays if I use the correct set of ports on the system and a docking station.
Side note: It’s Mini-DisplayPort, not Mini DVI. And scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager scans the whole system; there’s no benefit to selecting a specific device there. Although I have no idea why that was necessary to get outputs working.

@DaSchlange Yeah, sharing knowledge on a forum where people come to post and read in order to learn things. How arrogant of me.
