m17 R3, function key macros problem

Question

I have attempted to set up the Alienware macros keys for mute, volume up and volume down but command center won't recognize the Function (FN) key when attempting to create the macros for each. I also went to the BIOS to switch the F keys to multimedia but it didn't change anything when trying to create the macros. The reason I want to create the volume and mute macros is because I want access to my F keys while not having to use two keystrokes to mute when customers walk in our shop. I was able to create macros for mute, volume up and down in my previous Alienware 17, but I have not been able to figure out a workaround for my new m17 R3. We were checking this behavior with our Alienware engineers. Unfortunately, the FN can't be used as a macro because of the function of the key itself. You will need to keep using the same key combination for the volume.
