m17 R3, not using integrated Intel GPU?
Hello, I recently bought an Alienware m17 R3 and I use it on gaming and also in school. I found the battery is going very fast because whether or not I'm playing games. My RTX graphic card is enabled all of the time. I can't switch to my Intel GPU because there is no option? The Intel GPU doesn't show in the Device Manager. In BIOS, it shows but there is no option to turn it on. I downloaded and installed the Intel GPU driver but nothing happened.

In most cases, it isn't possible to upgrade a laptop's graphics card. ... The vast majority of laptops have integrated graphics, which means the GPU (graphics processing unit) is permanently attached to the motherboard, and not removable as it is in a desktop PC

What type of screen does the system have? The higher-end models in this line come with high-refresh panels and support GSync. If yours supports GSync, note that the nVidia GPU is hardwired to the display panel - the system does not support Optimus integrated-discrete GPU switching. The two technologies are mutually exclusive - either GSync (and discrete GPU all the time) or Optimus with switching.

Yeah, So if you have the newer laptops with the RTX cards, its impossible to use the Intel GPU as the primary one is the NVIDIA but if you haven't already then I recommend trying to switch to intel in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

My Screen is 300hz, I don't think it has G-syn because in the option site , its 144hz + Gsyn or 300hz.
